Insurgents and civilians alike posed for photographs, focusing on printed materials and flyers produced during the Uprising. Eugeniusz Lokajski “Brok” and Joachim Joachimczyk “Joachim” documented the posters hanging in the streets of fighting Warsaw. In most cases, though, where posters are shown, they are incidental and are found in the background of other events. On many of the photographs, we can find the motivational poster „Do broni szeregach AK” (“To Arms in Ranks of AK”), the work of artists Edmund Burke and Mieczysław Jurgielewicz, who were members of the Bureau of Information and Propaganda (BIP) in the Headquarters of the Home Army (AK).
