The most common photos of Germans from the Rising are those of POWs, often as they were undertaking clean-up work around the city. German-held positions, such as the BGK (Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego – National Economic Bank) building, from where the Germans shelled the surrounding area, were also documented by photo-reporters. Some older photos show German soldiers patrolling the streets of occupied Warsaw.
