Few photos remain that were taken in the midst of the fighting; most of those we have are staged reconstructions of earlier events. However, the barricades and various firing and observation posts are often shown. There are also distinctive and particularly interesting groups of photos documenting the fight for and capture of the PAST building (Polska Akcyjna Spółka Telefoniczna – the Polish Telephone Company), Świętego Krzyża (Holy Cross) Church, and Central Police Command.
