The civilian evacuation lasted throughout the entire duration of the Uprising. The Museum’s collection includes photographs of the civilian population evacuation from southern City Centre on 7-10 September, taken by Lt. Marian Grabski “Wyrwa”. Whereas documentation of the final moments of Warsaw after the capitulation in the first few days of October show insurgent units surrendering, portraits of brothers-in-arms, and group photos taken as mementos.
