Album of the unknown Luftwaffe soldier

The album of the unknown Luftwaffe soldier holds 123 black and white photographs, taken during the first few years of the World War II. The collection begins with memento photographs of the soldiers from 3. Company Flieger-Ausbildung-Regiment 11 at the training barracks of the Luftwaffe airbase in Schönwalde (Flugzeugsführerschule (FFS) A/B 11), next to Berlin. Amongst them is also a portrait of the album’s owner. The following images are from the Luftwaffe barracks located in Warsaw, on the terrain of the Academy of Physical Education in Bielany district. Furthermore, this group of photographs taken in Warsaw show skylines of the city and destroyed buildings due to the war actions of September 1939. Distinctive are also the street portraits of the Jews, often depicted in degrading ways with regards to the German soldiers photographing them. Further sights in the collection are views of Hamburg, Berlin and Potsdam. Immortalized in these images are several buildings, which were destroyed in the war. Amongst them is the Lehrter Bahnhof in Berlin. The album ends with a series of portraits of friends and lecturers.
