2 Lt. Wacław Loth “Kupiec”, “Karol” was born 10 May 1906 in Warsaw. He was the son of a pastor of the Varsovian parish in the Holy Trinity Evangelical Church of the Augsburg Confession. He finished Mikołaj Rej high school, as well as the Warsaw School of Economics. He worked as an official in the “Fryderyk Puls i S-ka” cosmetics company. He was a sportsman, playing for the Polonia Warszawa soccer team. Loth took part in the fight actions of September 1939. From the end of 1939, he was a part of the Union of Armed Struggle, later Home Army (ZWK/AK). In the time of the occupation, Loth lived at 22/20 Jasna Street. For several days before the Uprising, he entrusted his apartment to the disposition of Cl. Antoni Chruściel „Monter”, the commandant of the Warsaw District in the Home Army. During the Uprising, Loth commanded a special department in acquiring air drops. After the capitulation, he was sent to Stalag X B in Sandbostel. In 1945, he returned to Poland and settled in Radom with his family, where he worked as the director of the Sales Office in bath ceramics. Loth died 16 January 1950 in Warsaw.
